Every day we empty around 25,000 bins and occasionally mistakes can happen.
Before you contact us to report a missed waste collection, check that none of the following was responsible for your waste not being taken:
service disruption – view our waste collection updates page to see if there are any known issues affecting your area
severe weather – we will not return to empty bins that are frozen solid or where the lids have frozen shut – you should make sure the bin can open, and the contents are loose on the morning of the collection
issues with the waste you presented – you may not be able to report a missed collection if the crew has recorded an issue with your waste using their in-cab technology. They may also leave an explanatory sticker on your container
incorrect collection day, week or location – make sure your waste was presented in a clearly visible spot on the correct day by 7.00am. You can confirm your collection dates using our online waste collection calendar. You can also check your designated waste presentation location there if it differs from the front of your property
