We offer a number of options to make paying your bill, or paying for our services, as convenient as possible - in most cases you'll need your payment reference number.
Please note that we can't accept cash payments for bills or services at our Customer Centre.
Direct Debit
Make regular payments by direct debit:
- set up or amend a council tax direct debit
- business rates payments and direct debits
- council rent payments and direct debits
Credit or debit card
If you wish to make a payment by debit or credit card (VISA or MasterCard) you can:
- pay council tax online
- pay business rates online
- pay council rent online
- call our council tax, business rates or housing team, via our customer centre

Cash and cheque payments
You can make payments by cash or cheque at any Post Office, or by cash at any shop or garage displaying the PayPoint symbol for your:

Council tax bills can be set up with the following instalment plans:
- 1 instalment
- 2 instalments
- 10 instalments
- 12 instalments
Most bills are set to 10 instalments; you can change your payment arrangements online, simply set up or amend a council tax direct debit. If you’re unable to use our online services contact Customer Services on telephone: 01904 551558 for support.
Business rates
Business rates can be set up with the following instalment plans:
- 1 instalment
- 2 instalments
- 10 instalments
