We collected all recycling as scheduled today.
We were unable to collect household waste from parts of the following areas due to staffing issues:
- Dringhouses and Woodthorpe Ward
- Fishergate Ward
- Fulford and Heslington Ward
This waste will be collected as soon as possible; please leave your containers out for collection.

Friday 7 August
We collected all garden waste as scheduled today.
We were unable to collect household medical waste from parts of the Poppleton area, due to resources issues. We'll attempt to collect this waste on Monday 10 August; please leave your containers out for collection.
We were unable to collect recycling from Birkdale Grove in Acomb, due to blocked access. We'll attempt to collect this waste tomorrow, Saturday 8 August; please leave your boxes out for collection.
Thursday 6 August
We collected all recycling and garden waste as scheduled today.
We were unable to collect household medical waste from parts of Haxby, Strensall and Wiggington due to staffing issues. This waste will be collected on Friday 7 August; please leave your containers out for collection.
Wednesday 5 August
We collected all household and garden waste as scheduled today.
We were unable to collect recycling from parts of Holgate Ward due to vehicle issues. We'll collect this waste tomorrow, Thursday 6 August.
Tuesday 4 August
We collected all household waste and recycling waste as scheduled today.
We were unable to collect garden waste from parts of Copmanthorpe Ward due to staffing issues. We were also unable to collect garden waste in rural Osbaldwick and Derwent Wards. We will collect this waste on 5 August 2026.
