On-street parking is restricted in residents' priority parking scheme (ResPark) zones, unless you or your visitors display a valid permit in your vehicle.
Visitor parking permits are available to buy even if you don't have a vehicle of your own to park.
In order to purchase visitor parking permits, residents in houses in multiple occupancy (HMOs) within ResPark zones will require one of the following:
- a house in multiple occupancy parking permit
- a paper authorisation card (issued before September 2021)
- a digital HMO authorisation permit (issued after September 2021)
Authorisation cards and HMO authorisation permits
From September 2021 we are using a digital parking permit portal, which replaces our old paper parking permits.
If you already have a valid paper authorisation card, issued prior to September 2021, this will still enable you to purchase visitor parking permits without the need for a separate digital HMO authorisation permit.
You do not need to register for a new digital HMO authorisation permit until your current permit or authorisation card expires, at which point you'll be invited to register for our digital Permit Portal.
Each household with the relevant parking permit, authorisation card or HMO authorisation permit is entitled to an annual allocation of 200 daily visitor permits.
