York Station Front - Taxi ranks and drop off

The master plan proposal for York Station Front is based on 8 key features which work together to improve the use of space in front of York Station.

The covered area, which acts as a taxi rank and drop-off point, obstructs pedestrian access and has poor air quality.

Reorganising the Parcel Square buildings would create space for a new taxi and drop-off area, while the station façade woulde be restored sympathetically. The covered ‘Porte-Cochere’ would become a high quality pedestrian space, with the station leading the development in a future phase of the master plan.
