Different landowners and funding arrangements mean that plans for the area will be delivered in phases, each with appropriate partners, planning approval and timescales.
The council is working in partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority, York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority, Network Rail and LNER on this project. The initial construction works are being carried out by John Sisk and Son.
The project to transform York Station Front is receiving funding through the West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund and the Transforming Cities Fund and the UK Government.
