A dropped kerb, or vehicle crossing, is when a kerb is lowered and the footpath strengthened, to let vehicles move between roads and properties.
Even if you're not having a dropped kerb installed, you'll still need to apply as part of the application is permission to cross the carriageway.
Before you apply, you'll need to check you're eligible, and that you agree to the terms and conditions of applying for a dropped kerb.
You can also read about how we process you application, and the steps we take after we receive your application.
The dropped kerb and vehicle access policy was last updated in January 2022.
