On-street parking is restricted in residents' priority parking scheme (ResPark) zones, unless you or your visitors display a valid permit in your vehicle.
Visitor parking permits are available to buy even if you don't have a vehicle of your own to park.
In order to purchase visitor parking permits, residents within ResPark zones will require one of the following:
- a household parking permit
- a paper authorisation card (issued before September 2021)
- a digital proof of residency permit (issued after September 2021)
Authorisation cards and proof of residency permits
From September 2021 we are using a digital parking permit portal, which replaces our old paper parking permits.
If you already have a valid paper authorisation card, issued prior to September 2021, this will still enable you to purchase visitor parking permits without the need for a separate digital proof of residency permit.
You do not need to register for a new digital proof of residency permit until your current permit or authorisation card expires, at which point you'll be invited to register for our digital Permit Portal.
Each household with the relevant parking permit, authorisation card or proof of residency permit is entitled to an annual allocation of 200 daily visitor permits.
