Alcohol and drugs help
Our York Public Health Team is responsible for ensuring that local agencies work together effectively to prevent harm related to drugs and alcohol in York.
We have a contract with Change Grow Live Services Ltd (CGL) to provide the York Drug and Alcohol Service (YDAS).
Our skilled Health Trainers offer free confidential one-to-one support and guidance, face-to-face or remotely, on reducing your alcohol intake.
If you are concerned about yourself or someone else, help is available from our Health Trainers. Additionally, information on local services can be found on LiveWellYork:
- alcohol and your wellbeing
- help to cut down alcohol
- help for drugs and alcohol use, including support for families and friends
You can report hazardous litter such as needles and sharps to our street cleaning team.
