Warm Homes Local Grant eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
- live in York (for other areas, please apply to your local council)
- live in a privately owned property (either by yourself or your landlord)
- live in a property with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D, E, F or G (if this is unknown, it will be calculated on application)
You must also usually have a gross household income of £36,000 a year or less. If you earn more than that, you might still be eligible if either:
- you live in a certain postcode area (see map at the end of this page)
or - someone in your household is getting any of these benefits:
- Housing Benefit
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Pension Credit (savings and guarantee)
- Universal Credit
All heating fuel types are eligible, both on and off gas grid properties.
Park homes are eligible if they are the resident’s permanent home.
New-build or self-build homes are not eligible.
Landlords receive 100% funding for their first property; 50% funding for any further properties upgraded under the scheme.
