Who is responsible for council house repairs

Repairs during coronavirus lockdown restrictions

We’re working hard to ensure that repairs to your home will continue in a covid-safe way during the new national lockdown restrictions.

As the number of Covid-19 cases increase, it’s inevitable that there will be a rise in the number of infections across our workforce. This may lead to delays and we are doing everything we can to minimise them.

Please be patient when calling to report repairs to your homes. Your call will be answered as soon as possible but we may take more time than usual to pick up the phone.

Please check if the repair you need is a council responsibility or if it’s yours by reading our Council housing factsheets.

If you can, please report any non-urgent repairs towards the end of the week.

We're responsible for carrying out many repairs to council homes, but there are also some repairs that you are responsible for. We might charge you for rechargeable repairs. Find out how we carry out repairs to your home.

We aim to ensure that any communal areas are clean and safe by carrying out repairs to communal areas and facilities whenever necessary.
