Our partners and funders
Funding for the York Outer Ring Road project has been provided as follows.
The Department for Transport (DfT) has provided £25,093,000 funding through the Major Road Network (MRN) programme.
In 2020 the DfT devolved administration, funding and appraisal of the MRN funded YORR dualling scheme to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The West Yorkshire Transport Fund, which funded projects in York and North Yorkshire as part of the Leeds City Region, is funding the A1237 roundabout improvements. This includes the Wetherby Road roundabout which was delivered in 2019. This fund is administered by West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
City of York Council will also be contributing to the scheme.
Third-party contributions, such as those required from developers, are also being explored.
The full business case for all elements will be appraised by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, which will release the funding to deliver phase 1a.
