The fair allocation and lettings of homes is covered in this standard. How we manage your tenancy is also covered. We will:

• Allocate homes in a fair and transparent way that meets the needs of tenants
• Support tenants to maintain their tenancy terms and provide advice and support if a tenancy is ended
• Offer tenancies that meet the needs of tenants
• Support the mutual exchange of homes by tenants

What we have done:

• Launched our revised Tenancy Policy setting out types of tenancy and confirming rules on succession, mutual exchange and joint tenancies. See Council’s pledge to tackle tenants’ priorities unlocks new improvements

What we will be doing this year:

• Launching our Tenancy Sustainment Strategy
• Introduce new systems to simplify the Mutual Exchange process and provide transparency as to where you are in the mutual exchange process. We will also actively promote the mutual exchange process as an option for moving to appropriate home
• Revise our Allocations Policy to ensure it offers fair and equitable outcomes
• We will make changes to our Housing Management service so we can spend more time with tenants, carry out more home visits, and better understand how we can support you
