Accessibility at polling stations
Following changes brought about by the Elections Act 2022, accessibility at polling stations has improved; additional support is provided for voters with disabilities, and voters with a disability may be assisted by anyone over the age of 18.
Additional support includes:
- physical access, for example wheelchair ramps and disabled parking spaces
- low-level polling booths
- equipment for voters with a visual impairment, including large print versions of ballot papers, and tactile voting devices
