Once you have registered with us, you will receive a letter confirming your application has been processed and it will confirm the types of properties you can bid for.
Types of council homes and who is eligible
The list below shows the size of properties that applicants are eligible for based on how many people are in their household. There is no limit on floor level for families with young children; if a 2 bedroom 2nd floor flat is available and you place a bid, this will be considered a reasonable offer unless there are proven, assessed reasons why a 2nd floor flat would not be accessible. When you place bids you must ensure that the bid is placed on a property you would like to live in.

Independent Living
Some flats and bungalows are classed as Independent Living accommodation. This type of accommodation is generally intended for people who are aged 60 or over and/or need support to help them maintain their independence. Applicants will be assessed as to whether they need this type of accommodation.
