Guildhall restoration
Green technology is being used (to heat the building, lower costs and reduce environmental impact) as part of the £16.5 million scheme to restore and redevelop York’s historic Guildhall.
The project will also:
- address significant structural problems with the riverside tower
- tackle subsiding and cracking, stabilising the building with major underpinning
- replace main roofs to prevent further water damage
- give a new lease of life
