City centre vehicle access terms and conditions
- There is no vehicle access to the pedestrian area during the pedestrian hours of operation, 10.30am to 5.00pm daily, without a duly authorised application.
- Any vehicle attempting to access the pedestrian area other than the vehicle stated on the approval will be denied access.
- The vehicle will only be eligible to access the area via the specified access point.
- The vehicle route through the pedestrian area will be specified on the approval notification, any required alternative route will require an additional request.
- The exit point from the pedestrian area will be specified on the approval notification, any required alternative route will require an additional request.
- No vehicle may park on single or double yellow lines without a duly authorised application.
- The vehicle must comply with the guidelines issued with the waiver application form.
- Any vehicle parked at the said location other than that stated on the approved application will be liable to receive a penalty charge notice.
- Any vehicle not in receipt of an approval will be liable to receive a penalty charge notice.
- Any variation to the terms and conditions must be approved by City of York Council before the permit is issued, and any approved variation must be shown on the approval notification.
- Requests for relaxation or variation of the terms and conditions must be made at least 3 working days before the waiver is required.
- City of York Council neither makes nor implies any offer to comply with any requests for relaxation or variation to the terms and conditions of the permit.
- The applicant must inform City of York Council of any requirement stipulated by any statutory authority which may require a breach of conditions of the permit and shall comply with any variation to the permit required by City of York Council.
- If any vehicle is considered a danger to the public, or causing damage to the highway, or causing a greater obstruction than is approved in the authorised application, then the applicant, on the instruction of City of York Council, a police officer or the written instruction of the highway authority, will be required to remove the vehicle forthwith or risk a penalty charge notice, fixed penalty notice or be subject to the removal of the vehicle at the owner's expense.
