Before reporting a concern relating to leaf and blossom clearing, you should check whether we will be able to help. See our leaf clearing response times.
You can report concerns with fallen leaves or blossom online, if you feel that the issue is something we can help with.
See details of how to report problems with weeds.
Our responsibilities for leaves and blossom
We undertake a leaf clearance programme which takes place for 6 weeks from the end of October each year
We use a combination of methods to target pavements, grass verges and roads, including:
- trailer drawn leaf vacuums
- large mechanical sweepers
- manual cleaning
We expect to provide a swift response to clearing but we cannot attend across the whole city at once. Leaves may therefore always be present to some extent in streets across the city.
If a build up of leaves is causing a danger, being wet or slippery on a major footpath, report the issue online or contact us.
We do not collect leaves from public trees which fall into private gardens.
If the leaves are not a danger there is no need to report them as they will be cleared in due course as part of the programme.
Once the main leaf fall is over, or if any problematic leaves build ups appear to have been missed, you can still report them to us.
Our response to leaf problems
We aim to respond to requests to clear leaves within 10 working days.
