Street light replacement
We're removing and replacing all of our concrete street lighting columns with galvanised steel, plastic coated columns. The new columns will be safer, and include a maintenance-free coating guaranteed for 25 years.
Our existing concrete street light columns are increasingly fragile due to their age and were due to be replaced. The need to replace columns is driven by health and safety requirements, not by cost savings.
LED lanterns will be installed on any columns being replaced. Controlled LED lighting has the benefits of ongoing energy and cost savings for our streetlights across the city.
Consultation letters will be delivered to residents on all streets affected prior to start of any replacements in your area.
