City of York Council education leaders are congratulating students across the city who have received their A Level, T Level and post 16 vocational qualifications results today (13 August 2026)
Cllr Bob Webb, City of York Council's Executive Member for Children, Young People and Education, said:
"Congratulations to all the young people receiving their A Level, T Level and vocational qualification results today. Your results are proof that young people have the drive to achieve great things and will do this City proud.”
"These results reflect years of hard work, determination and commitment, and I would also like to thank parents, carers, teachers, support staff and families who have helped students reach this important milestone.
“But I also know that there will be some students who didn’t get the grades they needed or wanted today and to them I’d say don’t panic, this is just the start of the next step on your journey and people are here to help. Whatever your plans are for the future you can seek support locally and I would always encourage you to speak to your school or college first; they know you best and can provide bespoke support.”
Advice is also available for people considering apprenticeships or other employment opportunities, or for those wanting to move into full-time education.
Young people who are concerned that their personal circumstances may make accessing education, employment or training more difficult could also benefit from advice.

- Specialist Learning and Employment Advisors who can support young people who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) or are in care of the Local Authority.
