York Apprenticeship Taster Day 2020

The York Apprenticeship Taster Day is on Thursday 16 January 2020.

It gives year 11 students from schools across York the opportunity to have a taster in what it is like to be an apprentice in York.

To apply, download and print the Year 11 Apprenticeship Taster Day Application Form. The deadline to return the form is Friday 13 December. If you have any questions, get in touch with the York Apprenticeship Hub.

As an apprentice in York, you will:

  • learn job-specific skills
  • earn a salary; apprentices in York earn on average between £117 and £350 per week (depending on the hours worked and level of apprenticeship)
  • get a minimum of 12 months' paid employment and holiday pay
  • in some cases, work up the levels to get a degree or masters degree through apprenticeship training

If you're already in employment, you can do apprenticeship training for professional development, such as working towards management training, Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or higher and degree level qualifications.
