Queen's Green Canopy Champion City
The city of York has been awarded Queen's Green Canopy “Champion” status to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
This unique tree planting initiative is inviting people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
As part of this initiative, community tree-planting events will take place in 2022 to celebrate the jubilee and increase York's tree canopy, supporting the biodiversity of our local environment and improving carbon absorption across the city.
