All types of emergency can significantly disrupt our lives, and whilst we can't always prevent them from happening, we can plan ahead to minimise their impact.

Alongside our City Centre Evacuation Plan designed to help us work with the emergency services during a major incident, we've provided information about:

  • York Financial Assistance Scheme (YFAS) which could help to York residents facing financial difficulties following an emergency or unforeseen event
  • York Disaster Fund which could provide funds to York residents whose homes are flooded, if they have limited means or are not adequately insured.

The North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum is a partnership of organisations helping our area prepare, respond to, and recover from any major incident or emergency; it includes local police, fire and ambulance responders, local councils, businesses and voluntary organisations.
