Delwood is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, just off Main Street, Fulford. The building resides in a large, well-kept communal garden, which encompasses the entire scheme.

Fulford village has a range of shops and services, including a fish and chip shop, local pubs, hairdressers, a pharmacy, and a post office.

There is an Aldi supermarket and an Iceland supermarket 10 minutes away. Delwood is not too far away from the MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet, which includes coffee shops and restaurants and a variety of fashion stores.

There are a number of hotels and B&Bs on Main Street, as this is a main route into the centre of York.

There are two churches nearby: St Oswald’s Church and Fulford Methodist Church, both of which are situated on Main Street and are just a short walk away from the scheme.

There are two local GP surgeries, both located just off the Main Street and Fulford Road. Wenlock Terrace Surgery and Fulford Surgery, located on Fulford Park.

Fulford Main Street also boasts good bus routes to a variety of destinations including York city centre, Selby and York University.

There are 20 flats and 14 flatlets. These are all self-contained, with 1 bedroom.

There is access to all floors by stairs and chair lifts.

All flats and flatlets have a television socket, telephone point and are heated by storage heaters.

Flatlets have a large living room and sleeping area, which can be curtained off. They each have a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, with level access showers and a walk-in storage cupboard.

There is flatlets support available from a scheme manager.

All accommodation is connected to the community alarm system.


The building is fully covered by a fire alarm system with smoke detectors in all corridors.

Flats and flatlets are fitted with heat detectors and smoke alarms.

There is a small green house for all tenants to use in the garden, which also has seating areas.

There is limited parking space for tenants.

Tenant meetings

Tenants' meetings are held every two months so tenants can share ideas and thoughts on how to make sure Delwood suits the needs of everyone.

Delwood lies within the area covered by Fulford Residents' Association and these meetings are held at Delwood at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
