Emergency lighting

Emergency lighting will come on automatically to provide light if there is a power failure. The lights are battery backed they will only stay illuminated for approximately 3 hours.

Emergency lighting is a safety item which is fitted in the communal stairwells of most of our flats. Lights are fitted to ensure safe evacuation during power failures.

An emergency lighting flick test is carried out once a month by a member of our Electrical Team. This will be a short test to ensure the lighting is working. There will also be a 3-hour test conducted once a year. During the checks the lights may appear dim in certain areas. Any lights that fail will be repaired or replaced.

We currently have a programme to update any older lights to LEDs which are a brighter more efficient type of lighting.
