Emergency lighting will come on automatically to provide light if there is a power failure.
Emergency lighting is a safety item which is fitted in the communal stairwells of most of our flats. Lights are fitted to ensure safe evacuation during power failures.
The lights are battery-backed and will only stay illuminated for approximately 3 hours.
An emergency lighting flick test is carried out once a month by a member of our Electrical Team. This will be a short test to ensure the lighting is working. There will also be a 3-hour test conducted once a year. During the checks the lights may appear dim in certain areas. Any lights that fail will be repaired or replaced.
We currently have a programme to update any older lights to LEDs which are a brighter more efficient type of lighting.
