Significant investment in the city over the next 10 years, with developments to build new homes and attract more well-paid jobs to the city, means we're working on York's transport and travel network to make improvements to roads, footpaths and cycle ways, and to increase safety measures in the city centre.

York's current and upcoming transport projects
1. York Central
Infrastructure works as part of developments to transform underused land into vibrant residential neighbourhoods, cultural spaces, and a high-quality commercial quarter. Ongoing until mid-2025, for more information visit: www.yorkcentral.info
2. York Station Gateway
Transforming the front of York Station to create a new and improved gateway to the city. Queen Street Bridge will be closed for some nighttime works throughout November.
3. York Outer Ring Road
Upgrading road and roundabouts to reduce congestion and journey times whilst improving active travel options.
4. Millfield and Rawcliffe bridge
Repairs to the road bridge on the York Outer Ring Road (A1237) with works to begin on 29 May 2023, and expected to last 5 weeks.
