Each year, sixth forms, colleges and employers taking on apprentices open their doors to Year 11 students for two ‘taster days’ in January.
In 2021, this will not be possible, so providers have put together online information to give Year 11s an opportunity to talk to current students and apprentices, watch videos and ask questions about courses and training.
There will also be a Facebook Live Q&A event, from 5-7pm on Thursday 21 January, when representatives from schools and colleges will answer your questions.
- All Saints' RC School sixth form
- Archbishop of York's CE School sixth form open evening
- Askam Bryan College - book a place for virtual January events at Askam Bryan College
- Fulford School sixth form virtual open evening
- Huntington School sixth form taster day
- Joesph Rowntree School - taster day information
- York College - book a place on virtual taster days at York College between 11 and 15 January
School and college open evenings
Post-16 'sixth form' schools and colleges in York hold open evenings each autumn.
Year 11 students and their parents/carers are advised to view schools and colleges on their respective open evenings before making an application for a place in Year 12 (though these evenings are open to all students and parents/carers)..
Applying for a place at a sixth form school or college
Please note that there is no co-ordinated application process for Year 12; applications should be made directly to the preferred school or college.
