
Applications are now open for funding to support schemes which make a real difference to the lives of local residents in communities across the city.
The Ward Budget Citywide Fund supports projects operating citywide in York which support at least one of four key council priorities: Health and wellbeing; Tackling the cost-of-living; Environment and Climate Emergency and Equality of Opportunity.
The council is inviting organisations to apply for up to £10,000.
Previous allocations from the fund have included schemes to:
- Advice and practical help to reduce energy bills
- Support and social activities for children with additional needs and autism
- Specialist money, debt and benefits advice
- Counselling
- Training for employment
Cllr Katie Lomas, Executive Member for Finance, Performance, Major Projects, Human Rights, Equality and Inclusion, said:
The Ward Budget Citywide Fund provides a real opportunity for organisations to come up with creative solutions to local issues that support our priorities around health and wellbeing, cost of living crisis, climate and equality. I’d encourage organisations to submit bids as soon as possible.”
