Welcome to Employee Self Service, the web-based system which allows City of York Council employees to view and update some of the information held on the City of York Council Human Resources database, iTrent.
Employee Self Service is available to all council employees.
Log in to Employee Self Service
To log in to Employee Self Service click the HR Self Service iTrent icon:
First time log in

These files may not be suitable for users of assistive technology; request an accessible format.
The first time you log in you can:
- set up your eform preferences: provide an email address where your electronic payslip will be sent, you will also need to set up a secure password to enable you to open the payslip when you receive it
- check your personal details: check that your personal details are correct and update where required. We also encourage you to check and update your sensitive information
If you have yet to receive your login details and believe you should have already received them, email: payrollservices@york.gov.uk.
Problems logging in

Single Sign on Users: Use the ICT Self Service portal to log a request regarding your Employee Self Service login. Search for ‘iTrent’.
All Other Users: If you need to reset your password, please use the 'Forgotten Password' link on the login page.
Alternatively, inform the Payroll Services Team by email: payrollservices@york.gov.uk, or telephone: 01904 551619 if you have any queries regarding:
- getting your Employee Self Service login details
- any information which is incorrect, such as your job title, pay or line manager
- making a time and expenses claim
