If you want to store petroleum which you intend to put in to the fuel tank of an internal combustion engine (for example, into a vehicle in a petrol station), then you need a licence.
New procedures and regulations have been introduced - see our petroleum storage guidance for further infromation.
Please complete the petroleum storage licence application form and return to us.
You can expect to hear from us within 12 weeks for the granting of a licence, and 28 days for a renewal.
Due to overriding reasons of public interest, this process does not fall under the 'tacit consent' parameters. If you have not heard from us within 28 days, please contact us to check the status of your application (our contact details are at the bottom of this page).
