Help to stop smoking and vaping for teenagers

We’ve seen a rise in teenagers smoking and vaping in York.

Smoking is an addiction of youth, with most adult smokers starting before the age of 18 (ASH - Action on smoking and Health).

Our skilled Health Trainers offer free confidential one-to-one support and guidance, face-to-face or remotely, to help 12 to 17 year olds stop smoking or vaping.

If you're a York secondary school or sixth form student, the Health Trainers team can offer free patches, gum and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).

E-cigarettes cannot be offered to under 18s, as the sale of e-cigarettes is regulated in the same way as the sale of conventional cigarettes.

Getting help is easy, just contact the Health Trainers using the online form and a health trainer will be in touch.

You can also contact the team by telephone: 07789 946 384 (please seek permission from your parent, carer or bill payer), or email: healthtrainers@york.gov.uk.

For more information please download our leaflets and posters which are available in the Health Trainers toolkit.
