Following a reminder message, if you make a payment immediately you'll avoid the formal reminder process (by letter), and our print and postage costs will also be reduced.

Which type of reminder messages you receive depends on the contact details we hold:
- if we hold your mobile telephone number and email address, you'll receive an email, text message (SMS) and voice message
- if we only hold details for 1 method of contact, you'll receive an email or text/voice messages accordingly
Our approach is designed to give assurance that messages are genuine, and provide the best chance of alerting you to the missed payment, in the short time before a formal reminder letter is produced and posted.
Our electronic reminder messages appears as 'info.york.gov.uk'; your postcode may be used to verify access (when using text/SMS messages). Always check any links and emails are genuine to avoid scams and fraud - find out more about scam messages and how to avoid scams.
Our secure reminder messages include details of:
