This year, we're excited to announce that the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be taking place, with York selected as one of the host cities for 6 thrilling matches. For those interested in attending you can purchase tickets online.

  • Canada v Fiji, Saturday 23 August 2025 at 5.30pm
  • New Zealand v Spain, Sunday 24 August 2025 at 5.30pm
  • USA v Australia, Saturday 30 August 2025 at 7.30pm
  • Italy v South Africa, Sunday 31 August 2025 at 3.30pm
  • USA v Samoa, Saturday 6 September 2025 at 1.30pm
  • Japan v Spain, Sunday 7 September 2025 at midday

These matches will take place at York Community Stadium.

Strive 25 – T1 rugby sessions

As York gears up to host the Women’s Rugby World Cup this August, we're thrilled to unveil the Strive 25 - T1 Rugby programme.

The main goal of T1 Rugby is to increase the involvement of girls and women in rugby as we approach this esteemed tournament. We aspire to engage individuals who may not have previously viewed rugby as a suitable sport for themselves, particularly focusing on beginners and those returning to the game.

Our commitment lies in creating an atmosphere filled with fun, fitness, and friendship.

Free sessions across the city:

  • Wednesdays from 6.00pm to 7.00pm - New Earswick Rec, Hawthorn Terrace YO32 4BL
  • Thursdays from 6.00pm to 7.00pm - The Knavesmire, York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, York, YO23 1EX Located off Knavesmire Road, enter Racecourse via Racecourse Road to find free parking (behind Stands) or park along Knavesmire Road and walk into the racecourse
  • Fridays from 10.00am to 11.00am - Rowntree Park by Millennium Bridge, Butcher Terrace, York, YO23 1LS
