Bus lane enforcement on Coppergate

Access to Coppergate bus lane is restricted between the junctions with Clifford Street/Nessgate and Piccadilly, between 8.00am and 6.00pm each day.

Only the following motor vehicles are allowed through Coppergate during restricted hours:

• 8.00am to 10.00am: buses, taxis and private hire vehicles
• 10.00am to 4.00pm: buses, taxis, private hire vehicles, and vehicles for loading
• 4.00pm to 6.00pm: buses, taxis and private hire vehicles

Between 6.00pm and 8.00am access is not restricted.

The restrictions do not apply to bicycles.

Street signs are in place at the entrance to Coppergate to alert motorists to bus lane restrictions.

We enforce the bus lane restrictions on Coppergate using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) traffic cameras, which use car registration details during restricted hours.

We'll issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) to the registered owner of the vehicle if you breach bus lane restrictions.
