Yor Community Wellbeing Hub’s opening hours have extended with a broader range of drop-in support and activities offered.
The hub at Acomb Garth is now open 8am-8pm, Monday-Saturday, with a wider choice of activities for people to support their mental health.
As the hub makes progress towards its aim of opening 24/7, drop-ins and appointments at Acomb Garth Yor Community Wellbeing hub will be available from 8am-8pm, Monday to Saturday:
- Mon: 8am-8pm (drop-in)
- Tue: 8am-8pm (appointments only)
- Wed: 8am-8pm (drop-in)
- Thu: 8am-8pm (appointments only)
- Fri: 8am-8pm (drop-in)
- Sat: 8am-5pm (drop-in), 5pm-8pm (appointments only)
- Sun: closed.
During these new extended times, support now includes four new drop-in groups at the Acomb hub:
- The Greenshoots Gardening Group meets every Friday from 1-3pm. Anyone can drop in to help plant, weed or maintain the hub’s bright and welcoming outside space. Whether experienced or new to gardening, it’s a great opportunity to get hands-on, learn new skills and be part of a friendly, supportive group. Donations of garden tools, plants and pots are also welcomed.
- A Walking Group now runs fortnightly, on Thursdays from 1-2pm. All are welcome at this friendly walking group that meets at the Yor Community Wellbeing Hub at Acomb Garth. Enjoy a gentle walk in a supportive, relaxed setting, often heading to West Bank Park or along similar local routes.
- Weekly Quiz – put your general knowledge to the test in this fun sociable quiz, every Friday, 6-7pm.
- Activities Session – boost your wellness with a range of fun activities, every Wednesday, 11am-1pm.
