Don't Become a Statistic

The Don't Become a Statistic campaign highlights some of the most common types of accidents that happen in York, and how to avoid becoming an accident statistic.

This campaign focuses on three common types of accident that happen to pedestrians and cyclists:

  • cyclists: make sure the driver has seen you when approaching a junction
  • pedestrians: check for traffic at pedestrian crossings, don’t rely on the green man
  • cyclists: look out for long vehicles turning left when exiting a junction
