NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for planning, design and monitoring commissioned healthcare in the Vale of York, including York, Selby, Tadcaster, Easingwold and Pocklington. The area covers 30 GP practices and a population of nearly 337,000 people.

The CCG is made up of GP practices meaning it's led by clinicians who see patients every day - they understand the needs of the community and the impact that local services have on the health and wellbeing of patients.

The CCG's main areas of responsibility are:

  • planned hospital care
  • urgent and emergency care
  • rehabilitation care
  • community health services
  • mental health and learning disability services
  • tackling inequality including children’s health and wellbeing.

CCG's vision

The CCG's vision is to achieve 'the best health and wellbeing for everyone: Our partners and the strong relationships we have with them are central to the CCG achieving this goal. We will continue to value their support whilst we face a number of challenges and develop our ambitious plans'.

CCG's priorities

The CCG's key priorities are based on the health needs of local people, discussions with patients, the public and feedback from GPs, other clinicians and partners.

Setting out priorities allows the CCG to make positive steps towards improving the health of the Vale of York community by rebalancing the local health economy, education and prevention, through effective commissioning.

Getting involved with the CCG
