Volunteer Leaf Clearer - Volunteering opportunities directory

Description of role

Volunteer leaf clearers will help to keep pavements, drain covers, parks and green spaces free from leaves.

Work is generally concentrated in the autumn months when there is a high level of leaves found on public footpaths, parks and green spaces.

Volunteers can decide on an area they would like to clear themselves and can decide whether to:

  • form a group
  • join an existing group
  • work individually as and when it suits them

Volunteers will be able to help contribute to their local community, by:

  • improving the look of the local area
  • reducing surface water flooding
  • minimising the risk of falls and injuries
