2024 home condition surveys
To improve the quality, comfort and efficiency of your home, we're about to start looking at every council home in York, including yours. This is the first time the council have carried out surveys to every home.
Survey appointment letters will be issued from January 2024 to September 2024. The letters will let you know how to book your survey at a date and time that suits you.
If you don't book an appointment a surveyor will visit when they are in your area. Please allow them access into your home if you can.
We know that some homes are in better condition than others. To be accurate, we need everyone to let us survey their home, whatever condition you think it is in.
Having a full and accurate picture means we can:
- plan the work efficiently
- work on the most urgent cases first
- understand which homes are less energy efficient
- help improve your fuel bills and your comfort
