The election for the first Mayor of the new York and North Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority will take place on Thursday 2 May 2024.
The election takes place across the combined authority council areas:
- City of York Council
- North Yorkshire Council
Richard Flinton is the Combined Authority Returning Officer (CARO) for the election; he's responsible for the overall conduct of the election, and liaising with Returning Officers at both councils.
