York Youth Festival returns to Rowntree Park this summer for 2026
Young people across the city are invited to take part in the York Youth Festival, returning to Rowntree Park on Wednesday 22 July, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the festival will once again provide a free, fun and welcoming space for young people to come together, enjoy activities, connect with friends and celebrate youth culture in York.
The York Youth Festival is led by York Youth Council, with support from City of York Council, and reflects young people’s priorities for more opportunities to socialise, take part in cultural activities and feel represented in their city. The event is aimed at teenagers in York and is organised by local 11 to 18 year olds who attend Youth Council.
The afternoon will feature:
- a variety of free activities and entertainment
- live music from local young musicians and bands
- opportunities for local organisations to engage directly with young people
The event is open to all young people in York, with no need to book, just turn up and get involved.
