York Youth Council are organizing a Summer 2025 Youth Festival in partnership with local youth groups, youth providers, and the City of York Council Communities Team. The festival is set to take place on 23 July, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. The Youth Council hopes for this event to be a safe space for young people to be social, enjoy music, take part in activities, find out about what's on in the city, make new friends, and try something new. Lunch food and snacks will be provided.
In 2024, York Youth Council conducted a survey of over 5,000 children and young people under 18 in York revealed two main priorities: Opportunities, and Leisure/Culture. This festival was organized in response to the survey results and as a part of the Youth Councils project work.
The Youth Council is looking for young musicians to book for 10-15 minute sets. They are also looking for local youth groups who would want to run a stall or activity at the event. If you want to apply for either these, please contact the Youth Council.
If you are a local youth group and you would like to spread the word about the event, you can download and print a promotional poster for the event.
