If you are not resident in the City of York local authority area, then you should apply to your home local authority, even if you wish to apply for a York school. Our neighbouring local authorities are North Yorkshire County Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The School Services team offers a wide range of services to support both parents and pupils, including Educational Benefits such as Free School Meals, Home to School Transport, and Child Employment and Performance Licensing. We provide parents, pupils and schools with help and advice in related areas such as truancy, exclusions, appeals, home education and behaviour support. Information on these services can be viewed here.
