Park & Ride

Five Park & Ride sites currently operate in York. They allow you to travel to York by car, park for free in secure car parks and complete your journey into the city centre by bus.

All Park & Ride buses are frequent, low-floor and wheelchair accessible. Fares are low with up to two children under 16 travelling free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. There are discounts available for regular Park & Ride users.

Overnight parking is not allowed on Park & Ride sites.

Cycling with Park & Ride

Free cycle parking is available at all Park & Ride sites for those who want to take advantage of the fast bus link into the city. Alternatively, you can park your car at a site (Grimston Bar, Rawcliffe Bar or Designer Outlet only) and cycle the rest of the way into the city.

• Askham Bar
  Askham Bar Park & Ride is situated approximately 2 miles south-west of York, close to the A64 (Leeds-Scarborough road).
• Designer Outlet
  The McArthur Glen Designer Outlet is situated 2.5 miles south of York, at the junction of the A19 (York-Doncaster road) and the A64 (Leeds-Scarborough road)
• Grimston Bar
  Grimston Bar Park & Ride is situated approximately 2.5 miles east of York, close to the junction of the A1079 (York-Hull road) and the A64 (Leeds-Scarborough road).
• Monks Cross
  Monks Cross Park & Ride is situated approximately 2 miles north-east of York, close to the junction of the A1237 (York northern ring road) and the A64 (Leeds-Scarborough road)
• Rawcliffe Bar
  Rawcliffe Bar Park & Ride is situated approximately 2.5 miles north-west of York, at the junction of the A1237 (York northern ring road) and the A19 (York-Teesside road).
• New Park & Ride sites
  As part of the Access York project, three new Park & Ride sites are proposed to improve the existing service.
