On the 6 July 2014 the second stage of Le Grand Départ taking the worlds best cyclists from York to Sheffield rolled out from York Racecourse and took to York’s historic streets. The peloton rode along some of York’s best known streets and passed landmarks such as The York Minister before the racing started in earnest when the riders reached the edge of the city.
