Equality and diversity

We are committed to fairness and equality in everything we do.

Our equality commitment statement

Our vision for York is to be an equal, inclusive, and welcoming council and city, making sure that everyone enjoys the excellent quality of life our city offers.

Following a three-day assessment in January 2015, the council was awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating in the Equalities Framework for Local Government. The feedback is available for you to view.
