The design and access statement produced by North Yorkshire Police forms non-statutory guidance to supplement the policies and proposals of our Local Plan (incorporating the fourth set of changes).
The statement helps people making planning applications to preparing their 'Design and Access Statements' (see Validation requirements for Planning and Other Applications), by helping to ensure that crime prevention measures are incorporated in development proposals.
Incorporating crime prevention measures is a requirement of Development Control Local Plan Policy GP3 (Planning Against Crime), and is an important consideration in the determination of planning applications.
