On-street parking is restricted in residents' priority parking scheme (ResPark) zones, unless you or your visitors display a valid permit in your vehicle.
Visitor parking permits are available to buy even if you don't have a vehicle of your own to park.
In order to purchase visitor parking permits, residents within ResPark zones will require one of the following:
- an authorisation card (issued before 15 September 2021)
- a digital proof of residency permit (issued after 15 September 2021)
Authorisation cards and proof of residency permits
From September 2021 we are transferring to a digital parking permit system.
If you already have a valid authorisation card, issued prior to September 2021, this will still enable you to purchase visitor parking permits without the need for a separate digital proof of residency permit.
You do not need to register for a new digital proof of residency permit until your current permit or authorisation card expires, at which point you'll be invited to register for our digital Permit Portal.
Each household with the relevant parking permit, authorisation card or proof of residency permit is entitled to an annual allocation of 200 daily visitor permits.
