First show homes open virtually at Lowfield Green

Published Monday, 22 February 2021

Potential buyers of the high quality homes at Lowfield Green can visit the brand new show village via a virtual on-line visit to get a feel of their build quality, space and size.

The show village has a two-bedroomed bungalow and three-bedroomed detached house both fully furnished in landscaped grounds. They are among the 140 spacious, low-energy homes to be built for Shape Homes York as part of City of York Council’s Housing Delivery programme. Over five years the programme will deliver 600 new houses – at least 40% of which will be affordable – across York.

Among the first to visit the show homes before the start of this third lockdown were off-plan buyers, neighbours of the site and people who have expressed an interest in Shape Homes York.

Cllr Denise Craghill, Executive Member for Housing, said:

The build quality, the homes’ space, flexible design and light levels are very impressive. The attention to detail is superb with high quality kitchens and great outdoor space.

“Their energy efficiency is enhanced by photovoltaic panels and high levels of insulation for lower fuel consumption and greater comfort. I’d recommend a virtual visit to experience these homes which are also adding to and improving the standard of the city’s affordable housing.”

Peter Docwra, managing director of Ashtons Estate Agents, said:

The first phase released is all but sold, with only a few units available. A new sale phase of large retirement apartments and contemporary 4-bedroom town houses is due to be released later this spring.
