How we process Household Support Fund payments
There are 2 routes to apply for the new Household Support Fund - invitation and discretionary.
The invitations were sent out mid-January and the application window will close at 11.59pm on Sunday 4 February 2024.
For verified applications a payment of £25 in relation to this scheme will be paid into the bank account details provided by the end of February 2024. If you have already received a HSF4 invitation payment, this will be paid automatically to the same bank details and you do not need to apply again.
Residents who have not received an invitation letter by the end of January 2024 and are struggling to meet their household bills can apply directly for a grant.
The discretionary HSF 4 will be open from Monday 5 June 2023, and will close at midnight on 31 March 2024.
This application involves a standard means test around your current circumstances and the assistance needed to pay essential bills.
Any exceptional discretionary awards will be made on an individual basis as appropriate.
