COVID-19 vaccinations Privacy Notice
The information that we already collect and will use for the purposes of COVID-19 vaccinations are:
- the names of employees
- work or personal email addresses
- work or personal contact phone number
The council will not process any special category data for the purpose of covid 19 vaccinations.

As part of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic the council will share the above details with Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (VOYCCG) to enable eligible individuals to be offered and receive the vaccine.
The council is processing this personal information i.e. sharing with VOYCCG, as it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest in accordance with data protection legislation and/or it is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.
The two key items of primary legislation contain emergency powers relating to coronavirus and health protection in England.
It is the council’s responsibility to ensure that the information we share is accurate and up to date.
The information we use for this purpose may be included in statistics and reports. Any reports and statistics for publication or use outside of the authorised council staff, will be anonymised and cannot be linked back to you or individuals.
The information will be stored on the council’s and the VOYCCG’s secure networks and only those staff authorised to use it, will have access to it.
The information will only be kept by the VOYCCG for as long as is necessary to ensure you have been invited to receive the vaccination then they will securely and confidentially destroy it
